This oden (Japanese fish cake stew) is a masterpiece carefully created by a long-established kamaboko (fish cake) shop in Shimane Prefecture, with great attention to ingredients and preparation. The package contains a luxurious total of 8 ingredients: 5 types of specialty fish cakes, including the famous Izumo Noyaki (mini chikuwa), squid ball, horse mackerel hanpen (fish cake), and sliced burdock root cake (sasa-gaki gobo-ten), plus egg, daikon radish, and konjac. The secret to its flavor lies in the rich umami of the fish cakes, the richness of the rapeseed oil, and the original, custom-blended broth.
