Today, we are introducing "Dragon Eye Epilogue (3.5% ABV)", a beer style called Organic Dragon Helles!
The "Dragon Eye Epilogue" offered by Akatsuki Brewery is a Pilsner-style Helles beer with a mild bitterness. It has a low alcohol content and a refreshing taste.
Akatsuki Brewery obtained a license for brewing low-malt beer in Setagaya, Tokyo in 2016, aiming to create healthy beers using fruits and vegetables from organic farmers. The name "Akatsuki" means the dawn, symbolizing the potential of the future illuminated by the early morning light.
On September 8, 2020, Akatsuki Brewery opened the Akatsuki Brewery Hachimantai Factory in Hachimantai, Iwate Prefecture, taking a new step as an organic beer brewery. The Hachimantai Factory is located at the foot of Mount Iwate, an ideal place to realize the concept of "kindness to people and nature." The snow and rain that fall from the sky accumulate in the deep forests of Mount Iwate, eventually becoming spring water that nourishes the land. This spring water is called "Kanazawa Shimizu," one of Japan's top 100 famous waters. This mineral-rich water is perfect for brewing beer.
Akatsuki Brewery brews four main types of beer under the "Dragon Eye" name. The name is inspired by the tourist attraction "Dragon Eye (Kagami-numa)" at the summit of Hachimantai. Organic beer breweries are very rare in Japan, and Akatsuki Brewery is pioneering in this field. We will continue to aim for gentle beers that grow in harmony with nature.
