Produced by the long-established Kikuya Honten, founded in the Meiji era, this "Firefly Squid Marinated in Soy Sauce" uses sashimi-grade firefly squid from the Sea of Japan and is crafted with a commitment to being additive-free. Only the squids harvested in late April, known for their large livers and concentrated umami, from the famous Toyama Bay are selected, providing a rich and profound taste.
These firefly squids are carefully marinated in a special soy sauce made with whole soybeans from Yamagata Prefecture, allowing the flavors to deeply infuse. This dish pairs exceptionally well with hot steamed rice, and since it contains no chemical additives, preservatives, or colorings, you can fully enjoy the natural flavors of the ingredients.
