Today, we’re introducing “Sanshu Plum Wine” from Kakutani Bunjirou Shoten!

Crafted with care to bring out the full potential of its ingredients, Sanshu Plum Wine is a natural-style plum liqueur made without any added sugar or sweeteners. It’s created using a two-stage brewing method: carefully selected Japanese green plums are slowly soaked in traditional Mikawa mirin (a type of sweet rice wine).

Through long-term aging, the refreshing tartness of the plums harmonizes beautifully with the gentle sweetness derived from the mirin. The result is a rich, mellow flavor—perfectly worthy of being called a “Japanese liqueur.” It’s also rich in citric acid, which may help relieve fatigue, making it an excellent choice for a pre-dinner aperitif or a relaxing drink after work.

You can enjoy it straight or on the rocks, add it to black tea for a fruity tea cocktail, or use it as a base for original cocktails.
