Today, we’re introducing the “Ripe Nanko Ume Jam” from Oindo Farm!

This luxurious jam is made by slowly simmering fully ripened Nanko ume (Japanese plums) grown in the rich nature of Oku-Yamato, southeastern Nara Prefecture, using only beet sugar. The elegant aroma of ume blends perfectly with its natural sweetness and tartness, resulting in a rich flavor that feels like enjoying the fruit itself. No additives or flavorings are used—just a simple, deeply satisfying jam that honors the original taste of its ingredients.

Crafted by the agricultural corporation Nouyu-sha Oindo, based in Oku-Yamato, this jam reflects their commitment to preserving the nature and culture of the region for future generations. Their produce—plums, persimmons, and vegetables—are carefully grown with a focus on safety and quality. The area’s high elevation, clear water, and wide temperature variations contribute to the intense flavor and aroma of the local crops. Among them, plum cultivation is a major focus.

Oindo Farm is also working to preserve the heritage variety “Rinshu-ume,” once widely grown in the area. “Ripe Nanko Ume Jam” is a product of this deep-rooted care and craftsmanship. It’s a perfect addition to toast, yogurt, or sweets, bringing a touch of luxury to your daily table.
