Today, we introduce “Paripoli Pickled Plum Daikon!,” a crunchy, flavorful pickle that adds a refreshing touch to your table.

This pickle is an exquisite product made from domestic wariboshi daikon (split-dried daikon radish) and colorful carrots, carefully cured with plum paste and fragrant bonito flakes. Its biggest feature is the “paripoli” (crisp-crunchy) texture unique to split-dried daikon. With every bite, the deep flavor of plum and bonito flakes bursts forth, making it irresistibly delicious.

The plum paste uses plums from Wakayama Prefecture grown during the organic conversion period. The refreshing acidity and balanced saltiness enhance the umami of the daikon. A further pleasing point is that it is finished without yeast extract, catering to modern dietary needs.

Since it is already well-seasoned with the saltiness of the plum paste, you can enjoy it deliciously as is. As it lacks the distinctive odor of typical takuan (pickled daikon), it is perfect as a side dish for bentō (lunch boxes).
