Today, we introduce “Mebukiya Yomogi Daifuku!,” which envelops you in a rich fragrance like a spring field from the very first bite. The most significant feature of this Daifuku lies in its thorough commitment to the quality and quantity of mugwort. We luxuriously use only the young buds of domestic mugwort, which are considered to have the best aroma. Furthermore, by steaming the mugwort within one hour of harvest, we lock the youthful and mellow fragrance directly into the mochi dough while suppressing any unique bitterness.


The foundation of the mochi dough is "Himenomochi" glutinous rice from Shiwa Town, Iwate Prefecture, Mebukiya's home region. This rice has exceptional stickiness and stretch, and when combined with our carefully self-milled Gyuhi-ko (glutinous rice powder), it creates an incredibly soft yet firm texture. Wrapped gently within that dough is a smooth Tsubuan (chunky sweet bean paste) made from carefully simmered Hokkaido adzuki beans. The moment the mugwort fragrance and the flavor of the adzuki beans overlap is truly a blissful experience.


Additionally, Mebukiya takes pride as a "flour miller" and is dedicated to making products without relying on additives.
