These pigs are healthily raised on a unique feed blended with EM bacteria and natural ingredients unique to Okinawa, such as sugarcane molasses, purple yam, mugwort, and Chomeiso (herb of eternal youth). Its greatest feature is that it is about three times richer in glutamic acid—an umami component—compared to general pork, and is extremely healthy with only one-fourth the cholesterol.
