This "Rich Pumpkin and Soy Milk Potage" is a gentle and delicious soup made with nutritious pumpkin and soy milk. The star ingredient, the "Toyo-uke 10-year Yone Pumpkin," is harvested from self-sown seeds in Toya, Hokkaido, and carefully cultivated in pesticide-free, chemical-free fields in Kannami, Shizuoka Prefecture. This pumpkin is rich in beta-carotene, vitamin E, lutein, and dietary fiber, making it a perfect match with soy milk. It’s a nutrient-dense, body-friendly soup.
This soup can also be enjoyed as a chilled "Reisei Soup," known to soothe the soul. Originally a frozen product, it’s now available in a refrigerated version for easier enjoyment. Enhanced with olive oil, coconut oil, cinnamon, and garam masala, the soup boasts a rich and flavorful taste.
Japan Toyo-uke Shizen-no is dedicated to heirloom seeds and natural farming methods. The name "Toyo-uke" comes from Toyouke-Ōmikami, the deity of food and harvest at Ise Grand Shrine, revered as a god of abundant crops for centuries.
