Today we’re introducing “Haben Buri Smoked” from Toyama Nerumono!

In Toyama and Ishikawa, “haben” is a local dialect word for kamaboko (fish cake). This lovingly crafted Haben Buri Smoked product is a testament to tradition and innovation. Made with naturally smoked buri (Japanese amberjack) that's safe to eat raw, it boasts a gentle smoky aroma and a delicate taste that pairs perfectly with wine or whisky—ideal for both dinner tables and a touch of luxury in your snacks.

The fish paste used is phosphorus-free and made in-house using flavorful flying fish (ago) that’s gentle on the body. Absolutely no yeast extract or chemical flavor enhancers are used. Instead, the product is lightly seasoned with kombu broth and genuine mirin to bring out the natural umami of the fish. The texture is moist and satisfyingly chewy.
