Today, we are introducing Kawazoe Brewery’s “Genmai Vinegar Drink Yuko”!
This “Genmai Vinegar Drink Yuko” is a health-conscious beverage blending brown rice vinegar and yuko. Brown rice vinegar offers benefits such as detoxification, digestive aid, nutrient supplementation, cholesterol reduction, and allergy suppression. Yuko is a fruit that has been found growing naturally in only about 100 trees in the limited areas of Doinokubi and Sotome in Nagasaki City, formerly part of the Saga Domain. It is a traditional sour citrus of Nagasaki City, and it is believed to have historical ties with Christians, who may have introduced it. Yuko resembles yuzu and kabosu in appearance, with soft flesh and a mellow acidity with a hint of sweetness, and its fragrance is similar to pomelo and yuzu. Research reports suggest that yuko can reduce triglyceride levels in the blood and liver.
You can enjoy this drink by diluting it 5 to 10 times with cold water, sparkling water, hot water, or milk. Mixing it 4 to 5 times with milk makes it taste like a yogurt drink and is very delicious. The sparkling water version has a refreshing taste, perfect for hot days. Additionally, you can enjoy a new dessert flavor by pouring it over ice cream or yogurt.
